So for sometime now I have been wanting a small trailer to camping with and possibly take on the trails. After seeing Tony's in use at CTW last year, really wanted to build one. Up until about a month ago, really had no direction on style or construction. I knew the frame of the trailer would be from the frame of the donor 60. Then one night while at Tony's I picked up a spare front 60 fender and put it on the rear of the frame, and Tony's and I cruiser light bulbs went full bright. I wont go into all the details, but here are a few pics so far.

Some major progress was done today on the trailer. Spent most of the time de-skinning the rear section so the front fenders will mate up. Was able to get the fenders pretty much in the position they need to be in.

The front end was set in place to help align things and where more area needed to be trimmed.
Now that the fenders are aligned to where the need to sit, next step is to work on trimming the front floor to mount the front end. If the weather cooperates tomorrow, then hopefully that will happen. A lot done and taking shape.

Another productive day. Was able to cut away the "front" section of the rear to fit the front end of the 60. The front end needs to come back another inch or so from the pictures, but that's now part of the fine tuning phase of the build. The large hacks and general placement of the main parts is done. Just need to work them slowly into their final position. Couldn't resist putting the grill, light trim and hood on with Caleb's help. Now its actually looking like the concept picture.

Got more done today on the trailer. Was able to put the front end in place, cut and formed the rear fender wheel wells to match the front ones. Also got rid of the "fangs" up front.

That thing is going to be so fun to follow down the highway. Can't wait to see the looks on other drivers faces.

Got some work done on the fenders, mainly cutting them to line up the body lines. Turns out that the two main body lines on a 60 narrow about 3/8" to the rear. So I am having to section some of it to match. Now comes the task of welding it back together :o  .

Today I practiced my sheet metal welding. Spot welded the fenders back together. The body lines match up now, so thats good. Next up is cutting the rear body and weld up the front fender to the rest of the body. Hoping to start on the internal framing for the hood supports this weekend.

More fender work today. Was able to cut the rear section of the body and weld in the front fenders. Getting better with the Ready Welder on spot welding. Did a pretty good job of cutting round the gas filler door, if I do say so myslef :D . Now that the sides are one, going to get some metal tomorrow for the internal frame for the hood hinges and some for the hitch mechanism. Starting to come together 8-).
