I had every intention of taking the night off, then I stopped and bought a new muffler... Got it installed and its way quieter just hope Sooz feet don't get too hot. It's right under the passenger floor. It shouldn't be too bad as the 62 has a cat right under the driver and I never noticed it in the last ten years so the muffler shouldn't create a problem.

Since my radiator didn't make it back from the shop yet I just fiddled around with the dash. I managed to glue down the seperating top with 3M 5200, we use the heck out of it at work and it sticks to everything. Even used it to seal up the rear fender for now until I can make a more permanent fix. Attachment:

Also got the dash lights working. Turns out the dimmer switch was bad, thank god for donor rigs. Just swapped it out for the one off the donor and the lights now come on. The dome light works again as well, at least with the doors it does. Reinstalled the glove box too. Still planning out just how to set up the dash. Rear wiper is working, but not sure I am going to keep it on the rig. Don't use the one on the 62 very often. Straightened out the steering wheel, just didn't line it up too well when I put the column back in the rig. Also found some broken trim pieces that were happily replaced with more parts from Eric's donor.

Got the dash reinstalled hopefully to never come out again but I know better. Also put the last of the heater ducting back in. Remembered to get a new radio antennae before the dash went in, not a lot of room to plug the wire into the radio once its in.
Fastened down the shift boot too. I was surprised just how much noise comes through each and every little gap and hole.
Went for a short ride tonight and this thing is way quieter with the new muffler, could even talk to Jeremiah while accelerating. It was nice to see the gauges in the dark as well. I really like this motor and tranny combo, it has a lot of get up and go.

Got the rebuilt radiator back today. Took about an hour to install it including pulling out the leaky one. I threw in a picture of the foil trough I bent up to direct the flow of coolant into the drain pan, works great can't believe I never thought of doing this before. Attachment:

New radiator is a four core, might have to find a factory shutter to block it off a bit. Ran the rig to warm it up then went for a test ride to see if it would leak and it didn't. Pretty odd though the radiator was hot by the top hose and cool on the other end next to the filler. But the water is getting hot because the heater works just fine.

Hand Throttle, when you positively, absolutely can't take your foot off the brake..... I have to say the Eric gets all the credit for this one. I saw his and just had to put one on mine. Should be a lot of fun to learn to use. Attachment:

It's just the brake lever from a mountain bike hooked up to the throttle pedal. I pulled the factory hand throttle because it's not in a good spot and it is not spring loaded, as most of you know when you pull it, it stays on. I wanted a hand throttle that worked just like my foot pedal and Eric had just the solution to the problem. Not so sure about the orientation just yet but that will come after I use it a few times.

Finished attaching the hand throttle today at lunch. Moved the hand lever down a bit. Works great but still need to get a bit more RPM out of it. I think its a great mod and all for about $10.

Did some more work to the passenger side battery tray. Added a bolt mount for the hold down bracket so now I can get the bracket made and remove the bungee cords holding the battery down. I also welded a mount on it to hold the overflow tank for the radiator. Unlike my 62 there is a ton of room in the engine compartment so I used the factory tank. Attachment:

Didn't like where it was before so now it's on the passenger side right next to the fill cap of the radiator. For some dumb reason Toyota ran a hose across the top of the radiator and put it on the drivers side.

Got tired of having to use the donor key to open the door and the diesel key to start it so I swapped out the door locks as well as the corroded semi broken handles on the front doors. Also swapped out the passenger door panel for a better one from the diesel.
There are now handles on all the window cranks too. I am glad I bought the silly tool to change them, a lot less hassle than a screw driver.
Managed to get the radio working as well with a bit of a speaker swap from the old diesel doors. Nothing special of a radio, a bit retro with push buttons! I think I am going to keep it, don't like all that modern stuff and the memory can't be lost if you lose battery power....
Block heater in the motor works as well, that's gonna be handy in the winter.

The original electric car.... Thought I would try out the block heater while the weather was cooperating. Attachment:

The axle swap is now done and I am one tired puppy. Still have to attach all the small stuff, driveshafts, e brake, brake lines etc but the heavy work is done. Looked a little overwhelming when I first started. Attachment:

Sitting on the "new" suspension from the 62. Nothing in it yet and it will settle a bit after I drive it around with the load of crap I tend to haul. Attachment:

Thanks to Eric for a second jack and to Jeremiah and Caleb for all their help.
